2016 Beans and Cornbread Results

What an Amazing event with 180 entries!! There was plenty of Awesome racing from Kevin Fry’s SC Modified run all the way from the J Main to the C Main, the stunning finish in the Vintage class with Barret Miller taking the sneak win away from Ray Ralston and David Alford, then David Alford’s lightning fast 4.30 sec lap in the SC Modified, Steven Melton’s blazing fast new track record in 2WD Truck class, and Cole Ashworth’s emotional win in the Novice race after recently advancing from the Kids class!! Plenty of great racing action, but the most touching part of this weekend was the unselfish generosity by so many! Jamie Geer with Jambo Pits BBQ from Fort Worth won the 50/50 pot of $310 an immediately donated it back to the racers with $100 additional in the Novice and the rest spread through the classes then DeWayne Shipman really touched our hearts when he won the Traxxas Slash and came and asked me to please draw to give it to a lucky kiddo at the track!! It couldn’t have went to a sweeter little girl than Kaylee Fraust!! Her grandma told me a story of a little girl that has had to deal with so much in such a short time, I’ll keep it private on here but feel free to ask me the incredible story…and BTW when her uncle and her showed up Friday they had no idea there was a big race, they were just going to rent a car and practice and decided to join in on the fun!! Ian and I can not begin to Thank the many Wonderful people who support us from Tyler Johnson and his track prep, David Alford, Tyler Watts and Tyler Johnson helping me call races as I was losing my voice, Cindy Palmer and Morgan Baker for their dedication to keeping you all fed and happy, Cindy for also keeping the numerous prizes and money organized and helping keep my sanity, and each and everyone of the racers who have supported us with your loyalty through racing and buying with us at the Hobby Shop!! We will always strive to keep this a place of fun where families and friends can come and enjoy their time together. Lastly we can not forget the Incredible Sponsors who helped make this weekend possible with over $3,000 in prizes and money going back to the racers:... more
